This “potion making” kit was led and inspired by one of our very own little ones, who came up with this fun idea! We encourage you to go for a nature walk prior to this to collect ‘potion’ items such as leaves, grass, flowers, etc. Watch them explore and come up with their very own concoctions!

Kit includes:

• An information card, and a suggested activities card
• 1 mini glass vial of 100% pure organic lavender essential oil
• 1 paper bag of white rice
• 1 linen sachet of lavender buds
• 1 bunch of natural pinecones
• 1 bamboo mortar and pestle
• 1 glass eye dropper tool
• 3 glass vials (varying sizes or shape)

You may be wondering why many of the items included are glass. A cornerstone of Montessori style learning is the concept of ‘control of error’. When a young child uses glass items, they learn how to control their movements so as not to break them, which translates into everyday life.

SAFETY REMINDER: Your earthkit includes fascinating objects from nature along with nature-based materials - some of which might be breakable or sharp, allergens or irritants, or pose a choking hazard for some children. Please use common sense and supervise your child appropriately when they are working with the earthkit.
