Walter Gretzky wrote a message that is attached to the back of the print. In part it reads : "I grew up on this farm in Canning, Ontario, about ten miles northwest of Brantford. It is a quiet rural area with lots of big lush maple trees and bushed areas. The old bridge was one of the last Silver Bridges in the area. It was finally replaced in 1999. This painting depicts an accurate setting and gives a real sense of the homestead where Wayne, the boys and the whole family would spend time together as a family and playmates. I am happy to share a little piece of our Gretzky Homestead with you. Hope you enjoy. Walter Gretzky"
