TUK Caldwell Limited Edition Prints
beautifully framed with green matting.  Perfect for the Fisherman Cave.

PRINT 1 - THE RESTING POOL Undaunted, the salmon have battled upstream against untold obstacles until-tired. They have found a quiet pool. There, facing upstream, they pause to build up strength to continue up to their spawning beds.

PRINT 2 – UP AND OVER Fresh from the ocean and just changing into their spawning colours, the salmon are strong enough to tackle any obstacle.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT I can paint a salmon so that it looks like a coloured photograph. Unfortunately this would not tell you much about a salmon. Their incredible journey in search of immortality is a most dramatic and inspiring event. It is the excitement, action and colour of this event that I am trying to capture and hopefully allow you to share this awe inspiring experience with me. TUK CALDWELL-The Artist Tuk Caldwell was born in Fiji in 1925. His family moved to Australia in 1941 where he attended the National Art School and The Teachers College at the University of Sydney. After graduating He joined several art societies and his work is represented in many National. Civic. Corporate and Private Corporate and Private collections. He moved to Canada in 1966 and taught art in Senior High School for twenty-five years. He also took further art courses at the University of British Columbia. After being almost exclusively a marine artist, he has recently turned to landscape and revived his very early interest in fish which has drawn a great deal of attention.
