Electrifying Trout Artwork
Donor: Friend of TUC
- Item is Closed
This unique two-piece artwork was painted by local artist Mary-Leigh Doyle on an Enmax electrical box outside TUC’s national offices in Fisher Park in 2014. You may recognize some of Mary’s incredible painted artworks while commuting throughout the city, such as the giraffes on the Zoo Road overpass. While Enmax initially was not fond of the work (citing safety concerns) and requested it be painted over, they had a change of heart soon after and allowed the painting to stay—electing to add a sticker with safety messages instead.
This story was featured in a news article in the Calgary Sun in 2014, titled “Art on the line—no flexibility in painter’s brush with Enmax.” When the box was replaced in 2015, TUC was able to acquire this piece by donation. This would make a unique addition to your outside seating area or garden, or as a statement piece for your home or office.
This is a truly one-of-a-kind piece!
