CELTIC BIRD EARRINGS
Celtic Birds - Spirits of Prophecy
Birds symbolize transcendence; they are often seen to be spirits of the air, symbolizing the ascent to higher worlds, or the descent of higher worlds to the Tree of Life or world axis (axis mundi) joining the higher with the lower. In the Celtic world, birds are seen as celestial messengers and carriers of magic powers. The Partridge is a symbol of cunning and eventually became a symbol of the Truth of Christ. The Raven and the Pheasant are birds of prophecy and good fortune. Doves are sacred to all mother goddesses and often we see a mother goddess with two doves accompanying her, symbolizing both peace and conjugal affection.
