6-Coin Specimen Set
The Royal Canadian Mint is proud to present this 6-coin 2020 Specimen Set of Canadian Coins. This year's specimen set shifts the focus onto wildlife conservation by showcasing one of Canada's endangered species on the specimen dollar coin. All six coins feature an exclusive specimen finish, which combines brilliant and frosted relief over a lined background. This set includes a rare 50-cent coin in a specimen finish which is only available as part of this set.
The $1 coin features a reverse design by Canadian artist Caitlin Lindstrom-Milne. The image of a black-footed ferret (Mustela nigripes) in its natural grassland habitat highlights the decades-long recovery efforts that led to its Canadian re-introduction into the wild in 2009. The obverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt.
