Krista Lauridsen is a Real Estate professional, Facilities & Design Executive, Thought Leader, and Registered Architect. She holds a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Business Administration. She is a current Director on the Calgary Horticultural Society Board. In 2023, Krista's achievements and potential were recognized through her inclusion in Calgary's Top 40 under 40 list. 

Krista's design of ATB’s corporate spaces holds the needs of diverse team members as a priority. This includes lighting adjustability and variance, reduction of overwhelming stimuli through pods and tents, and textures for seating and flooring. Her success in a male-dominated industry is rooted in her passion for the idea that the design and meaningful creation of space matters, both indoors and out.

Please tell us about a turning point or challenge that you feel shaped you as a leader or mentor.

"Two years ago I was given a career changing opportunity - to move from the leader of a department of 10 people to the head of the entire business unit. From a much larger team, to new reporting structure, to leading my previous peers, to restructuring, it was the hardest thing I have ever navigated as a leader."

What would you say is the most important trait or skill to develop for someone working in your field?

"Blue sky thinking and not getting mired in what is possible today, but what we should be driving to long term."
