Give the gift of a fun school program to your child or grandchild and the rest of the students in his/her class!
It is a long process for a puppy to become a certified Guide Dog. Students are fascinated by this journey and love having a dog in their classroom.
School program consists of an Alberta Guide Dogs staff or volunteer being joined by a puppy-in-training or an ambassador dog. Students will learn about the process the dogs go through to become a guide dog and help someone who is blind or visually impaired. We’ll also get the dog to demonstrate a few of the commands that are part of the training program.
Program can happen anywhere within the City of Calgary and usually lasts 45 - 60 minutes, depending on the grade and interest level.
The school program needs to be booked by the end of January 2020 and may occur anytime between January and May 2020 on a mutually agreed upon date. Donated by Alberta Guide Dogs.
