We are happy to have you join us on an adventure on ice! Our guides have been leading visitors from around the world onto the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield since 1985. This is your opportunity to experience, first hand, the world of glacier ice. Every day is different! Early in the summer season there is still snow covering much of the glacier. It’s cleaner and whiter than during mid-summer. Although some features on the glacier are still covered by snow, the surroundings are most impressive, still draped in their winter coats. Later on, depending on the previous winter's snowfall, you may see millwells, small crevasses, cryoconite (read: dirt!), and amazing melt water streams. At any time you might observe ice avalanches (from a safe distance, of course) or rain or snow squalls coming through. The surrounding peaks are some of the most spectacular in the Canadian Rockies. This place never disappoints. Valid anytime during the 2019 season.
