Fundraiser for the Delta Fishing Heritage Society
In 2009, a group of pioneers and pioneering families who were interested in the history of the commercial fishing industry in Delta, as well as the symbiotic relationship and ecological importance of the Lower Fraser River estuary to fish, bird and fauna habitat, met and formed what is now the Delta Fishing Heritage Society.
DFHS has undertaken a project to restore the “Persian Fisher”, an historic wooden gillnetter that will be placed on public display upon completion. The date of this placement is yet to be confirmed by the City of Delta. www.DFHS.ca
