This past July, 16-year-old Kaylee Kozari-Bowland started having trouble walking. After three weeks and five trips to the hospital, she was medevaced to BC Children's Hospital where she was diagnosed with an Undifferentiated Metastatic Sarcoma that left her paralyzed from the chest down.  Since the surgery to remove the cancer from Kaylee's spine, she has received intensive chemotherapy, radiation and physiotherapy. Kaylee, wheelchair bound until October, is learning to walk again with the aid of crutches. She is kind, brave and determined beyond belief but needs her mom's help from morning to night.

“I’ve been friends with Kaylee for four years and this auction is a way to raise awareness by helping her and her family through this difficult time,” said Calgary Hitmen forward Beck Malenstyn.

“With all the physical, emotional and financial stress her and her family are experiencing, I’m hoping these funds will help alleviate some of the strain. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.”
