Residential school survivor, Phyllis (Jack) Webstad, told the story of her first day at school when her new orange shirt, gifted to her by her grandmother, was taken away. The color orange has since become the legacy of orange shirt day and the global conversation. Each jersey features the handprints of family and friends that have survived the residential school system and are integral parts of our lives. Our thunderbirds family is built on the resiliency of the generations before us.
