Habitat for Humanity Southern Alberta is a non-profit organization working towards a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.  Our mission is to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty.  Through volunteer labour and donations or money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses alongside homeowner (partner) families.  

The Southern Alberta June 2013 flood devastated the town of High River. Seven months have passed since the flood and many residents are still displaced. The community struggles to recover.  The need for affordable housing is at an all-time high.   

Our local chapter is raising funds to build affordable housing in the area for a deserving family.   100% of the funds we raise in the Foothills stay in the Foothills.

It costs $225 per square foot to build a Habitat home in Southern Alberta.  A Habitat home is typically 1,100 square feet.  Habitat homes are sold to eligible partner families, and are financed with affordable no interest mortgages. Homes are built using volunteer labour and donation of money and materials. Monies collected through mortgages go into a revolving fund, which is used to build more homes for more families in need. Each family helps another family achieve homeownership.

We have had tremendous donor support and are thrilled to offer some very unique auction items.
