Sonshine Community Services is a charitable organization bringing hope and healing to families in need for almost 40 years.

The Hope Gala is Sonshine Community Services annual fundraising event. In 2017, all funds raised will be directed to Sonshine’s Children’s Centre programming. Sonshine’s Children’s Centre exists to stop the cycle of domestic violence and victimization from continuing onto the next generation by addressing the unique needs of children exposed to domestic violence and other forms of emotional trauma.

Sonshine’s Children’s Centre is meant to be affordable, specialized and unique. A place where every child who has experienced trauma can feel welcome and start healing. On average, 25 out of 30 children that attend the Children’s Centre in a calendar year are considered economically disadvantaged.

At Sonshine we believe that each one of these children deserves to receive the support he needs to grow up to his full potential. That’s why we fundraise about $15,000 per child per year to cover the costs for their specialized care.
