For this project, I will explore the subject of memories. This project not only holds a favorite memory but it's also based on one of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken; watching a sunset. I explored this subject because I like to work with something that has a deeper meaning to me. I feel that I've grown a bit in the skill of abstract painting. I've never used drywall compound to build textures before, but it was definitely fun to work with. I was able to expand and eliminate whatever my mind wasn't accepting on my canvas which was one of my favorite parts. I liked this style, and in the future I hope to work with it again. I have more ideas on what to create with texture. I do think that eventually I'd switch my style to focus on this process - I enjoyed it.
